Overview
Swain is a battlemage who excels at sustained area damage, frontline presence, and punishing enemies who stay too close for too long. He becomes especially strong in drawn-out fights where he can keep draining and controlling space.
Strengths
- Very strong in extended fights
- Excellent area presence and zone control
- Can be very hard to take down once established
- Useful mix of damage and durability
- Punishes grouped or committed enemies well
Weaknesses
- Can struggle against heavy range and kite
- Needs fights to last long enough
- Less effective if burst down instantly
- Can be awkward into highly mobile teams
- Positioning still matters despite durability
Early Game
In the early game Swain should focus on controlled lane presence, meaningful trades, and building toward fights where enemies cannot simply disengage. He gains value when opponents are forced to commit near him.
Mid Game
Mid game is where Swain starts becoming much more threatening in grouped skirmishes and objective fights. If enemies are forced into contested space, his value rises sharply.
Late Game
In late game fights Swain should look for positions where he can remain active for as long as possible rather than rushing blindly. His best fights are the ones that stay contested and extended.
Tips & Tricks
- You want fights that last, not instant burst trades.
- Tight spaces and grouped enemies increase your value a lot.
- Do not overestimate your durability without setup.
- Your pressure grows the longer enemies stay near you.
- Good positioning creates more value than panic engaging.
